The Qatar Fund for Development signed two agreements, under the umbrella of “Qatar Scholarships”, with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and Lusail University, via video communication technology.

Misfir Hamad Al-Shahwani, Deputy Director General of Projects at the Qatar Fund for Development, said in a statement after the signing that these agreements focus on investing the existing educational infrastructure in the State of Qatar to achieve Qatar’s goals in relation to international development, stressing the fund’s keenness to achieve integration and cooperation. With all national institutions to serve the common goals of all parties.

Regarding the agreement signed between the Qatar Fund for Development and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, Al-Shahwani explained that this agreement aims to attract international students from developing countries to complete their education in one of the graduate studies programs offered by the institute, as this partnership is not the first of its kind. In 2018, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Institute to enhance academic cooperation and benefit from common capabilities.

On this occasion, Ms. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Executive Director of the Administrative and Financial Sector at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, stressed that the signing of agreements between the Institute and the Qatar Fund for Development comes in the context of supporting and promoting scientific research and institutional integration and to promote sustainable and effective partnership that serves the educational sector. And the academic, appreciating the support of the Qatar Fund for Development, which is to cover the tuition costs of a number of international students from developing countries and non-residents in the State of Qatar, for a period of five years, to enable them to enroll in master’s programs offered by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, and this step was considered a central factor in the institute’s contribution. To achieve one of the sustainable development goals in those countries by supporting education, which is a basic human right and a fundamental pillar in building societies and generations.

Regarding the agreement signed between the Qatar Fund for Development and Lusail University, Ms. Fatima Al-Musleh, Vice President for Student Affairs at the university, indicated that the program seeks to provide grants to cover the study costs of a number of international students from developing countries who are not residing in the State of Qatar, to enroll in one of the undergraduate programs. offered by Lusail University.

Through this agreement, Lusail University aims to achieve its vision and strategic objectives by creating opportunities for cultural diversity and multinationality within the university and the consequent exchange of experiences and enriching experiences among students, in addition to Lusail University’s belief in its role in spreading knowledge and culture and providing educational opportunities for all groups. In addition to its role in supporting the vision of the State of Qatar and its interest in educating children and youth in developing countries and extending a helping hand to poor groups and communities.
